The Image Works is an independent stock photography agency that has unified numerous photographers and specialized collections from around the world into one impressive archive. Our images come from different sources: top-notch photojournalists, a network of affiliated agencies, specialized collections, museums and newspapers. Spanning both historical and contemporary material, the result is an incredibly diverse yet focused collection of over one million images online and access to over 35 million images.
The Image Works licenses images to books, magazines, documentary films, advertisers, and other media. As editorial specialists we believe that the value of an image lies in a combination of its visual strength and the information it conveys. Our knowledgeable research staff provides efficient, personalized service with decades of experience in finding just the right image.
We have long recognized that our staff, contributing
photographers and affiliates form the foundation
and soul of the agency. The Image Works is
located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains
in the world famous historic arts colony of
Woodstock, NY. Long before the 1969 concert,
Woodstock has been a center for the arts.
